The house is on a narrow street in Mourão, a minute's walk from the village centre. From outside it looks like what it is: a whitewashed Alentejo house with a painted band along the base. Inside it has been carefully restored — the wooden beams and some of the stonework were kept, and the rest is deliberately simple.
There are two bedrooms: one double and one with two single beds, sleeping four in total. The living room and kitchen share one space, with a big table. The bathroom has a shower set into an arched alcove and a terracotta basin.
Check-in is self-service, whenever suits you, and there's free parking beside the house.

The courtyard is the best part of the house. There's the pool, deckchairs, a shaded area under a cane canopy, and a table big enough for everyone.
Because it's enclosed by whitewashed walls, it's completely private — you can spend the whole day in a swimsuit without seeing anyone.
