Enclosed by whitewashed walls, it is completely private and in the sun from morning to late afternoon: pool, deckchairs, cane-canopy shade and a table big enough for everyone.

The house is on a narrow street in Mourão, a minute's walk from the village centre. From outside it looks like what it is: a whitewashed Alentejo house with a painted band along the base. Inside it has been carefully restored — the wooden beams and some of the stonework were kept, and the rest is deliberately simple.
There are two bedrooms: one double and one with two single beds, sleeping four in total. The living room and kitchen share one space, with a big table. The bathroom has a shower set into an arched alcove and a terracotta basin.
Check-in is self-service, from 4pm, and there’s free parking beside the house.

How many people does the house sleep?
The house sleeps four, in two bedrooms: one with a double bed and one with two single beds.
Is the pool private?
Yes. The pool is in the house's walled courtyard and is for the exclusive use of guests staying there.
How does check-in work?
It's self check-in: the keys are in a lockbox, so nobody has to meet you and there's no cut-off time. Arrival is from 4pm — come whenever suits you, however late.
Is there parking?
Yes, there is free parking beside the house, about a minute's walk away.
How far is the lake beach?
Mourão lake beach is about a five-minute drive. There is free parking at the beach.
And Monsaraz?
Monsaraz is about twenty minutes by car, crossing the bridge over Alqueva.
Does the house have air conditioning?
Yes, in every room — both bedrooms and the living room. It matters in August, when afternoons go well past 35°C, and in the Alentejo winter, which is colder than people expect.
Is there a cot for a baby?
Yes, there is a travel cot with a mattress. Bed linen for it isn't included, so bring cot sheets.
What time is check-out?
Between 9am and 11.30am.
How does payment work? Is there a deposit?
You pay 50% when you book and the remaining balance 7 days before arrival. We don't ask for a security deposit.
What if I have to cancel?
Payments already made are non-refundable. That's the policy shown at checkout before you confirm, and it's the same for both houses. If something comes up, call us — we won't promise here what the policy doesn't say, but it's always better to talk.
Are bed linen and towels included?
Yes, both are included. The towels are bath towels — there are no separate pool towels, but you're welcome to take the bath ones outside.
Is there a cleaning fee?
No. Cleaning is included in the price, with no separate fee.
Do you accept pets?
No, the house doesn't accept pets.
